We all want to be Rich Lawd. The Alabama artist taps into his country roots while presenting a confidence and an ear for production that can be rare these days. 2021 was Rich Lawd’s introduction to the masses, his debut album “The Richest” proving from the jump that he has potential to be a star. Already in his first album, Rich Lawd has shown a technical prowess that will keep listeners onboard for centuries to come. Even when asking fans, there is no one lane for Rich Lawd. He appeals to people who like to succeed and get money. With his powerful delivery, slick wordplay, and great storytelling, Rich Lawd is sure to grab your attention. 2024 saw Rich Lawd release two projects titled Get Rich or Die Broke and Pimpin in the Hall of Fame, but it’s only the beginning for an artist who brings an unprecedented energy to the microphone.
Rich Lawd was born in Montgomery, Alabama but was raised in Union Springs, Alabama. He later moved to Atlanta when he was 10 years old. All it takes is hearing him speak or listening to the music, to understand Rich Lawd is a hard worker and a passionate one at that. However, Rich Lawd takes pride in expressing that this mentality comes from his humble beginnings living in Alabama. “I can remember being 5 years old and I was cutting grass with the push lawnmower, working on the house, the list goes on and on,” Rich Lawd explains, “I watched my grandad take care of a family of 8...he knew how to work and feed his family...and did that up until his 70s when he died...seeing that growing up, I never made excuses when it came to anything requiring hard work.” In the midst of all this, Rich Lawd was experimenting with music from a young age: main lead in church choir at age 5, played alto saxophone by age 13, took guitar lessons in high school (but left it behind because the teacher was so boring) all of this before he himself really began to rap.
As most know, Rich Lawd was already making videos for some of the top artists in the game. However COVID changed everything and forced the Alabama standout to pivot. “I came up with an idea to host one of my homies mixtapes...and everybody loved it,” Rich recalls. “They were telling me how good I sounded and how strong my voice was, that’s when my homie was like...you should start rapping, people already like your voice.” From there Rich Lawd simply tapped into the hustler mentality he inherited growing up. The talented creative would spend hours upon hours writing, creating, recording and then spend some days performing. The best part of it all is Rich Lawd started rapping in April of 2020 and because of his ability to rhyme and run a crowd, supporters didn’t believe the standout had just started less than a year ago. In the boot camp year of 2021, his album “The Richest” was born.
There is nothing the Alabama artist can’t do. Rich Lawd demands the listener’s attention with every bar, every verse, every track. Now in 2025, Rich Lawd is coming off “Get Rich or Die Broke and Pimpin in the Hall of Fame’s success and is preparing to drop more videos, content and upping his artistry. “The goal is to build a cult following, get better with my fan engagement and consistently drop songs.” With his RIIICCCHH movement taking off, be prepared for another album to drop in 2025.
